Diana's Perfect Disney Race Season

Join us in supporting Diana's Perfect Disney Race Season – an extraordinary fundraising journey led by Diana Irey Vaughan, President and CEO of City Mission. For the past eight years, Diana has run marathons to raise crucial funds for City Mission, covering an incredible 25 races, 327.8 miles, and raising over $200,000 to help those in need.

This season, Diana will be running 13 races at Disney World, spanning a total of 112.7 miles from November 1, 2024, to April 6, 2025. Every mile she runs will be dedicated to raising money for homeless women and children at City Mission.

City Mission provides shelter, meals, and support services to vulnerable women and children, helping them rebuild their lives. By sponsoring Diana in this season’s races, you can play a critical role in helping us provide hope and healing to those who need it most.

"We cannot afford to ignore the growing plight of homeless women and children in America. Help me care for the forgotten ones – the homeless women and children in our region who find themselves at City Mission’s doorstep – who desperately need our help to prosper and thrive."

Diana Irey Vaughan, Pressident & CEO, City Mission

How to Start Your Own Fundraiser by Running

Here’s a step-by-step guide to raising money by running and making a real difference in the lives of homeless women and children:

1. Set Your Fundraising Goal

  • Decide how much money you want to raise.
  • Determine how many miles you plan to run and calculate a donation-per-mile target.
  • Example: If you plan to run 100 miles, you might ask donors to pledge $1, $5, or $10 per mile.

2. Create a Personal Fundraiser on Facebook

3. Word of Mouth

  • Talk to your friends, family, coworkers, and community members in person about your fundraiser. Explain your mission and how they can support you by pledging donations.

4. Flyers and Posters

  • Create simple flyers or posters explaining your fundraiser, the cause you’re supporting (City Mission), and how people can donate.
  • Distribute flyers at local businesses, libraries, coffee shops, gyms, and community centers or post them on bulletin boards in schools, churches, or recreational centers.

5. Workplace or School Announcement

  • Ask your employer if you can share your fundraiser with colleagues during meetings, in newsletters, or on a company bulletin board.
  • If you're part of a school community, ask to make announcements in classes, assemblies, or through school newsletters.

6. Church or Faith-Based Community

  • Ask your pastor or faith leader if you can share your fundraiser with your congregation.
  • Announce it during church services or include it in the church bulletin.
  • Ask members to join you in prayer or get involved in your fundraising efforts.
